After last night’s massacre by a suspected rebel group (ADF) raided Rhubiriha Secondary School in Mpondwe, Kasese District, leaving over 40 students dead, and injuring eight with over 34 others abducted; president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has ordered a heavy hunt for the rebel group.
Museveni has sent one of his mighty trusted general (Gen. Muhanga) to fully investigate about the matter and the clear shoots behind it as he restores peace back in the area.
The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kasese District, Lt. Joel Walusimbi, confirmed the reports and said that the attackers were believed to be members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a rebel group that operates in the border area between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
He also said that the security forces, including the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and the police, were pursuing the rebels in the Virunga area, where they are suspected to have fled.
