RDC, Police boss arrested; State House speaks out

RDC Wilberforce Tukei

The Anti-corruption Unit yesterday ordered for the arrest of Bukedea Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Wilberforce Tukei and the DPC of Bukedea SP Charles Okoto. This has come shortly after an intensive investigation into the matter of the reported criminal activities that were cited in the recent L.C V Chairpersons by- elections in Bukedea District.

The anti-graft committee says the two big wings failed to act on the rampant acts of intimidation and assault of candidates, polling agents, journalists and some voters. The said incidents occurred before, during and after elections. An official (State House aide) who preferred anonymity details that the RDC if not corrupted was supposed to ensure a suave fall of elections together with the Police officer who was in charge, he says thus;

“The role of an RDC first is to ensure that all government works are coherently implemented and together with his DPC to see that all the citizens benefit from security regardless!”

Others arrested include; D/ASP Ehguloiti Alex, PC Akankwasa Onesmus, PC Oriokot Simon Peter, PC Kamakoin Difas and PC Born Naibei.
