Interpol ‘ordered’ Museveni to release more Police officers

On 15, November, president of the Republic of Uganda and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Yoweri Kaguta Museveni arrived at Kabalye Police Training School in Masindi district to preside over the pass out ceremony for Probationer Police Constables, Special Police Constables on integration course and immigration officers that are over 2000.

This has come with president Museveni saying he had to do so only to tighten the security of Ugandans and their properties. He has also assured to release more Police Constables to help with security and order.

The development of releasing more officers has come after him noting that also the International Police (Interpol) had earlier asked him to do so. President Museveni notes thus;

“Yes also Interpol had before told us to see that every 500 people have one Police officer.”

With this president Museveni says it improves communal safety and peace. Uganda is well established in peace keeping with it today holding troops in DR Congo and other countries like Somalia.
