JAJJA ICULI: Mystery Surrounds City Blogger’s Death

Uganda froze yesterday night on hearing the dreadful assassination of Isma Olaxes real name Ibrahim Tusubira aka Jajja Iculi. Iculi died by the gun in his car at Kyanja, a Kampala suburb as he was on his way home at around 9:27pm. He died next to the gate of his home.

He has been famously known for fearlessly attacking and exposing the ‘bad’ the state had done and unexpectedly applauds its ‘good.’ Nonetheless, he also over attacked the opposition like when he attacked the wife to NUP president Barbie Kyagulanyi with bitter insults of how the Kyagulanyi family will never lead Uganda as he titled Barbie thorny names. During his death he had a baking biff with artistes like Bobi Wine (Kyagulanyi), Sheeba Karungi to mention but a few. Besides, one of Iculi’s last mouth works has been that of the death of Labour Minister Charles Engola, where he got seen dancing with jubilations and harsh words that mocked his death.

With this, friends close to the deceased say Iculi also had inclination of juggling the government with opposition. He never took proper stands;

“Today you will meet him talking the good about the state and the other day you find him insulting it,” notes a female family friend close to the deceased.

Kaye Wisdom, also a blogger reveals that the shooting of Jajja Iculi was well planned and done by professionals. Kaye says his colleague was murdered by unclear assailants with unclear intentions;

“They hired professional killers to end his life. They shot at the front of the car and never at the driver’s, so the driver escaped. And all the bullets poured on him… see, they even shot in the eye!” notes Kaye with a little tear in the left eye.

Peng Peng also a celebrated blogger based in Europe says Isma died a recluse life where his trust in State wings got dismayed. He adds before his death Iculi had been dinning with the big wings (not disclosed) in government and that his life has been changing incredibly.

“Iculi was not only a close friend to me but also brother whom I knew several years back. We used to talk; we used to discuss what he will air out. He told me he had resided with the State and that he was given guards. I actually inquired why he got the guards and he replied that he’s fine with it, I later cautioned him on his attacks, to go slow and he accepted, time moved and now he’s dead. I personally can’t tell who is behind his death! Am still wondering who killed my Jajja,” Peng Peng cried on a live phone interview earlier today.

Today, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba (First Son) Senior Presidential advisor and chairman of the MK Movement mourns Iculi’s death and covered all the burial expenses and sets a strong stand with the late’s family;

“I urge all law enforcement agencies to quickly find those behind his murder and bring them to justice,” he noted. Police is however on hunt of the unknown gunmen who killed Jajja Iculi.

 Who’s Jajja Iculi?

Iculi the son to Hajji Kasajja Muhammad came to lime light years ago while still in Sweden after blogging words that seemed oppositional to the system the government of Uganda runs on. Later he left Sweden to Uganda where he had met his death. But upon reaching here he went head on with whoever he could land on in dirt. He exposed without fear or favour, he never sided. A couple of years ago on his way to State House to meet President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Iculi said with this move his life is profoundly changing. Later he met tycoon Hamis Kigundu alias Ham bought him a vehicle (Drone) and then a few months later revealed that he’s of NRM, a ruling party in Uganda and his style changed and on many occasions he got seen in yellow t-shirts. He was given a driver and guards and on appearing on popular TV show Mwasuze Mutya, Iculi declared how he’s no longer a regular class and that he’s a turned big wing. He has been laid to rest today at Nkokonjeru Katwe, Mukono South Constituency.
