NUP blames army on bomb attacks as Speaker demands report

NUP Supporters march on streets of Busia today

NUP (National Unity Platform) politicians have allegedly blamed the army of Uganda on staging bombs around the city. NUP says this could have come only to sabotage their national mobilisation campaign tours. Politicians within NUP have been quoted saying ‘obwo bubadde bwabwe’ literally meaning (those are staged wiles) intending to stop them from visiting the rest of other districts.

The army has however refuted the allegations saying that politicians should stop fraternization politics with security. The UPDF army spokesperson Brig. Gen.Felix Kulayigye on a phone interview earlier today revealed that the issue of bombs is serious and that it intends no political party. He notes thus;

“Abantu bajje eby’obufuzzi mu security ( security and politics shouldn’t be mixed) this is a national security issue so politicians should stay informed and alert on this, they should put politics away from this.”

The speaker of Parliament Hon. Anita Among has also urged the ministry of Security to produce report over the same. She says she’s exhausted of listening to Police spokesperson Fred Enanga adding that only a clear report from the concerned Minister will work:

“I don’t want to hear from Afande Enanga, I want the minister himself with a detailed report tomorrow, if he tells us to leave parliament by 6pm we will comply. The nation needs to know about this issue of bombs. I need the report by Thursday this week,” she stated.
