“I have never earned any single coin from my sweat. ‘kyoka waliwo abafunamu’ (and we’ve gainers)” This has been our very own Kika Buka star Sheebah Karungi’s words earlier this week revealing her anger to those gaining from her music. 

She notes besides, the government under its body URA have reaped big and that telecommunication companies have also made a huge fortune out of her and other artistes’ music. With this, she says she will not stop till something is done or the ‘cheat’ stops.  She goes further to indicate how the creative business is collapsing because of what she calls ‘cheaters.’ She adds the last quarter of 2022 URA collected over Shs1b from the entertainment sector but nothing has been fully done for the sector they reap from;

“In one of the many sensitization meetings we had about 2 weeks ago, someone said ‘the last quarter of 2022 URA collected over sh1b from the entertainment sector,” Sheebah revealed.

Queen Karma, swag Mama Sheebah who noted further with depression puts it that from her childhood journey to where she’s today, with all the investment put in she has never seen any reap from her hot talent; congealing that the industry has forever been abused, she adds;

“Our Industry has been used and abused; after investing all my LIFE in this business since I was 14 and now 33, you think that is FAIR?”
